Topeka Gives!

Every June since 2013, the Topeka Community Foundation has pulled together the a huge community event: TOPEKA GIVES. Fairlawn Plaza is so glad to host this gathering: in June, 168 of Topeka’s favorite non-profits set up shop inside our Mall for a marathon 12 hour meet-and-greet. It’s always a wonderful day: the Mall is buzzing with neighbors meeting neighbors and folks discovering new local organizations. Meet Jane.

We sure meet a lot of nice folks in Fairlawn Plaza. They shop here, and they work here.  We’re lucky that way.

Do you know Jane?  She’s not just nice … she’s super-nice. Incredibly nice. She smiles ALL.THE.TIME. and she means it. You can tell– she has twinkly eyes.

The Dictionary Project

Well, that was fun!

Randy Austin, the Managing Member of Fairlawn Plaza, made a very special delivery recently to Mrs. Theresa Lein’s third-grade class at St. Matthews School here in Topeka: each kid in the class received a free dictionary to take home, courtesy of Fairlawn Plaza and a wonderful nation-wide organization called The Dictionary Project. Over 26.5 million dictionaries have been distributed to third-graders across the country since 1995 as a way to encourage reading and writing skills — and…
