The Dictionary Project

Well, that was fun!

Randy Austin, the Managing Member of Fairlawn Plaza, made a very special delivery recently to Mrs. Theresa Lein’s third-grade class at St. Matthews School here in Topeka: each kid in the class received a free dictionary to take home, courtesy of Fairlawn Plaza and a wonderful nation-wide organization called The Dictionary Project. Over 26.5 million dictionaries have been distributed to third-graders across the country since 1995 as a way to encourage reading and writing skills — and as one young man asked as we passed out the books, “You mean we can take it home and keep it? All our lives? ‘Til we’re dead?”
